The ChemiScreen CGRP1 Calcitonin Receptor-Like Receptor Stable Cell Line is an engineered cell line for use in studying drug candidates (small molecules or biologics) targeting GPCRs. This cell line enables assessment of ligand (e.g. calcitonin) based activation of CALCRL - RAMP1 GPCR activity via detection of increasing levels of intracellular calcium. The included cell line overexpresses CALCRL alongside RAMP1 modifying protein and endogenous high levels of the promiscuous G protein, Gα15, coupling the receptor to the calcium signaling pathway. Upon activation of CALCRL, the resulting calcium activity can be fluorescently assayed. This stable modified cell line is provided as two vials of cryopreserved cells. Canine distemper virus strain Snyder Hill was derived from ATCC VR-526 by adaptation to growth in Vero cells (ATCC CCL-81). ATCC VR-526, deposited by L.E. Carmichael, was isolated from the brain of a dog with clinical distemper in September 1950. Because it was propagated in animal tissue, ATCC will no longer offer that product.

The cAMP Hunter HTR1A Gi cell line is a stable, engineered cell line for use in studying drug candidates (small molecules or biologics) targeting GPCRs. This cell line enables assessment of ligand (e.g. serotonin/5-HT) based activation of HTR1A GPCR activity via detection of decreasing levels of intracellular cAMP. This product uses EFC technology. The cells overexpress wild type HTR1A, a naturally Gi/Go coupled GPCR. Upon activation of HTR1A, the decrease in levels of intracellular cAMP leads to a decreased signal from EFC when the cAMP detection kit is applied.
